About Me:

I just completed my first year as a Sixth Grade English/Language Arts teacher at Lowndes Middle School.  My family and I relocated here March 2008 and are loving valdosta, Georgia.

Prior to working in the Lowndes County School System, I worked in Technical Adult Education at East Central Technical College in Fitzgerald, GA for six years.

A Positive Experience with Instructional Technology:

I divided the class into groups and assigned them the task of creating a power point explaining the research process or the writing process.  The best power points in each of the categories were to be featured during our Technology Fair.  The assignment turned out great and the students were very creative in building their power points.  I only wish I could've assisted them in creating this same assignment using Movie Maker. My limited experience in using Movie Maker handicapped me in that area.  Maybe after Teach 21, I will be able to move my students into the 21st century and beyond.
