Al's PBworks Admin Homework Page

Welcome to Lowndes County Schools Teach 21

This wiki will be a place for all participants to share their experiences as we work together to transform how students learn in the Lowndes County Schools.  We will look closely at the ISTE NETS (National Educational Technology Standards) for Students and Teachers, and we will discuss using technology to develop higher order thinking skills.

You have a few tasks to complete prior to our class. This wiki will be your primary resource for the course, and it will be the place where you can share your experiences with your peers.  For specific help with using the wiki, pbwiki has some good help pages at PBworks Info .

TASK 1:

Click on the Directory link below.  Click the edit tab on the directory page, and in the table enter your information (phone number is optional).  Then click on your name to bring up your directory page.  Edit the page with your information so we and your classmates will know more about you and your experiences.  Also, begin to sketch out what your plan is for your Teach 21 project.  This can change (and it will change!) as the class and the school year continues

TASK 2:

We have selected the most popular courses from your responses to Rhonda's survey.  You need to choose one session for Thursday and one for Friday.  Click the Breakout Session Registration link below, click the edit tab, and add yourself to the Particpant list for the sessions you wish to attend.

TASK 3:

A teacher in New Zealand, Andrew Church, has developed edorigami, an amazingly detailed resource on using technology to teach higher order thinking skills. His wiki discusses what it means to be a 21st Century Teacher, learning styles, technology integration, and how we can use technology to develop higher order thinking skills in our students. As preparation for our course, please go the page linked below for some specific instructions on what to review at edorigami.  You will post comments there with your take on these topics.
